Hawaiian Cruises - Affordable Paradise Adventure

Hawaiian cruises are a dream come true for most people. For most people, it will remain a dream. But if you have made up your mind to visit this tropical paradise on your next vacation, you will be pleased to know that Hawaiian cruises are more affordable than ever.

The internet is a great place to search for Hawaiian cruises if you are looking for package deals. Someone living in the United States wont find it difficult to find cruises to Hawaii. If you live in the United States you can choose from about a hundred various cruises that depart for Hawaii each day. Among the many locations that Hawaiian cruises depart from are Vancouver and San Diego. You should allow for almost three weeks for a full tour of the Hawaiian islands. Some packages exist that provide for a month long cruise. These packages allow you to explore all that Hawaii has to offer.

Prepare yourself to explore the islands of Oahu, Hawaii, Kauai and Maui. Hawaiian cruises offer much more to do besides simply relaxing on your private deck and watching the sunset with your favorite drink in your hand. You'll also be very excited by the land activities that are offered with your cruise. A large variety of water sports are offered on cruises to Hawaii. You can go snorkeling or scuba diving, navigate by the side of coral reefs in a glass bottomed boat, and even examine the underwater world in a submarine. Another exciting activity is to search for whales just off the island of Lanai, since this is where the humpbacks spend their winter after they return from their Alaskan summer.

Hawaiian cruises also offer activities which can be done on land, such as a variety of adventure sports. With exciting adventures to choose from like mountain biking or hiking in the rain forests of Kauai, or exploring dormant volcanoes on the big island of Hawaii, you wont want your cruise to end. You can be adventurous or you can simply lay around on the beaches, relaxing and enjoying the sun and sea. Kilauea Island is popular with tourists, and many cruises to Hawaii stop there. There is a volcano on the island that has been active since 1983, when it first erupted. What an experience to see the volcanic lava emptying into the sea, from the safety of the ship at night. Its really something to see.

You will also find that the nightlife on Hawaiian cruises, both on the ship and while in port, is something you'll never forget. And cruises to Hawaii offer daytime activities like shopping, swimming, movie cinemas and spa facilities. Whatever your idea is of the perfect vacation, Hawaiian cruises have it.

Luxury River Cruises in India

India is increasingly becoming a central location for luxury travel and luxury cruises. Luxury River Cruises in India are all the more spectacular because they provide travellers with an opportunity equal to none to observe the astounding geography of the region. The

Ganges River is the starting point for a host of luxury river cruises.

All river cruises in India start and finish with the River Ganges, or India's "Holy River." The Ganges flows east through the Gangetic Plain of northern India into Bangladesh. The Ganges then rises in the western Himalayas and drains into the Sunderbans delta in the Bay of Bengal.

For Hindus in India, the Ganga is not just a river - but a mother, a goddess, a culture. Many Hindus believe that life simply isn't complete without bathing in the Ganga at least once in one's lifetime. Many Hindu families keep a vial of water from the Ganga in their house. Hindus believe that the water from the Ganga can cure the ill.

Some of the most important Hindu festivals happen on the banks of this vital body of water. Festivals are celebrated on the banks of the river, such as the Kumbh Mela, Allahabad and the Chhath Puja.

The River Ganges is a primary tourist destination. Three towns holy to Hinduism - Haridwar, Allahabad, and Varanasi - attract countless pilgrims to its waters. Thousands of Hindu pilgrims arrive at these three towns to take a dip in the Ganges. The rapids of the Ganges also are popular for river rafting, attracting scores of adventure seekers in the summer months.

A Brahmaputra Luxury River Cruise provides the best opportunity to explore one of the world's finest combinations of river and jungle.

The River Brahmaputra merges with the Ganges in Bangladesh and splits into two: the Hugli and Padma Rivers. When it merges with the Ganges it forms the world's largest delta, the Sunderbans. The Sunderbans houses the largest mangrove swamp and Estuarine National Park in the world and is home to one of the largest tiger reserves in the world.

The notions of wildlife and wilderness are central to any Brahmaputra Luxury River Cruise. The sand spits and estuaries of the river abound with a variety of bird life and Gangetic Dolphins.

A cruise along this river also allows access to a number of spectacular National Parks, including Kaziranga, the last home of the one horned rhino. Kaziranga National Park is the oldest National Park in Assam and a World Heritage site. Spread over an area of 430 square kilometres, the park is home to a variety of species, such as: the one horned rhinoceros, elephant, Indian bison, swamp deer, samber, hog deer, sloth bear, leopard, capped langur, gibbon, jackal and ibis.

The mighty Brahmaputra River charts its majestic course through the state of Assam. This mystic land of blue hills and beautiful rivers is renowned for its rich flora and fauna, the one horned rhinoceros and other species of wildlife on the verge of extinction.

Assam is the state that houses many holy sites, such as: Kamakhya Temple, the Shakti Temple of mother Goddess Kamakhya situated on the top of Nilachal Hills. The greatest shrine of tantric Shaktism, devotees from all over India converge on this holy place during festivals.

Umananda Temple is another great Shiva temple situated on the Peacock Island in the middle of the Brahmaputra. This temple attracts devotees from all over the country during Shiva Ratri.

The Brahmaputra soon becomes the Hugli River, which glides snakelike through the Kolkata district. Kolkata is regarded as the intellectual capital of the nation. Several of India's great 19th and 20th-century heroes were Kolkatans, including guru-philosopher Ramakrishna, Nobel Prize-winning poet Rabindranath Tagore and film director Satyajit Ray.

Dozens of venues showcase Bengali dance, poetry, art, music, film and theatre. Kalighat's Kali Temple is Kolkata's holiest spot. The current structure dates from 1809.

However, the site is many, many centuries older and possibly the source of the city's name. Inside the temple pilgrims jostle to present hibiscus offerings to Kali. This site has been an important pilgrimage destination since the 16th century.

Luxury river cruises in India provide travellers with an unequalled opportunity to observe the astounding geography of this stunning region.

Luxury River Cruises in Egypt and the Middle East

The majestic River Nile, considered by many to be the lifeblood of Egypt and the Middle East, offers the ultimate in luxury river cruising. Temples, sacred valleys and amphitheatres abound on a cruise between riverside destinations. Few places on earth continue to captivate from one century to the next.

All luxury river cruises in this region feature Cairo as a top sightseeing destination. Cairo is the capital and largest city of Egypt and aptly translates to "the triumphant."

Cairo is located on the banks and islands of the Nile River in the north of Egypt.

Cairo is a fascinating juxtaposition of ancient and modern architecture, citing such monuments as the Pyramids, the Hanging Church, the Sphinx, and Heliopolis as its own. The oldest part of the city is east of the river.

The Egyptian pyramids are essential viewing when in Cairo. There are over 100 pyramids in Egypt. The best known Egyptian pyramids are those found at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo. The Pyramid of Khufu at Giza is the largest pyramid and the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence.

No luxury river cruise is complete without a visit to the city of Edfu - situated on the west bank of the Nile River. Edfu is the site of the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus and an ancient settlement, Tell Edfu. Of all the temple remains in Egypt, the Temple of Horus is the best preserved.

Esna is a city that is situated on the west bank of the River Nile, 55 kilometres south of Luxor. This city was built in the area of ancient Latopolis and is the site of a major temple dedicated to the god Khnum. Ancient texts mention that it was built on the site of a temple that may have been constructed as early as the reign of Tuthmosis III.

Aswan is the ancient city of Swenet, which in antiquity was the frontier town of Ancient Egypt. It stands on the east bank of the Nile and is a busy market and tourist centre and one of the driest inhabited places in the world. The stone quarries of ancient Egypt were located at Aswan, due to its abundance of Syenite, a granitic rock.

One of the highlights of an Egyptian river cruise is a stop at Luxor. Translating to 'the palaces', Luxor is home to the most awe-inspiring collection of ancient monuments in the world. From the magnificent temples of Karnak to the Valley of the Kings on the river's West Bank, Luxor is the jewel of any journey.

One of the first stops in the city must be the Temple of Luxor - built by Amenophis III.

The Temple of Luxor is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile. The temple begins with the 24 metre high First Pylon, built by Ramses II. The main entrance to the temple complex was originally flanked by six colossal statues of Ramses - four standing, and two seated - but only two have survived.

Just outside of Luxor lies another spectacular destination for sightseeing. The Valley of the Kings is a valley where, for a period of nearly 500 years, tombs were constructed for the kings and nobles of the New Kingdom. The valley stands on the west bank of the Nile, within the heart of the Necropolis. The area has been a focus of concentrated archaeological exploration since the eighteenth century. In 1979, it became a World Heritage Site.

Outside Egypt, you may also want to explore Dubai by water. Dubai is a modern metropolis situated on the Persian Gulf coast of the United Arab Emirates. Dubai Creek is a large body of water (suitable for large ships to enter) running northeast-southwest through the city, making for an ideal destination for river cruises.

A Dubai river cruise offers stunning views of the city. Tour Dubai and the Arabian Gulf and witness the beauty of Dubai in all its present and former glory. Points of interest along the way include: the National Bank of Dubai, the Heritage Village and Sheikh Saeed's house.

Dubai is known internationally as a premier tourist destination. Dubai offers an endless array of unique opportunities for things to see and do. Highlights include: desert safaris, dune driving; sand-skiing; moonlit Arabian desert barbecues, camel racing, horse racing, falconry, and exploring the old city markets.

Sightseeing opportunities include: traditional architecture; ancient mosques, magnificent palaces, dusty Bedouin villages, lush oases, and beautiful sunsets.

Luxury Cruises - How To Prepare And What To Expect

You've decided to treat yourself to a luxury cruise, but it's your first time on one and you're not sure what to expect. Contrary to popular belief, they are not just for high flyers or millionaires. You are just as likely to find people who may have had a windfall or saved up to treat themselves to what they'd consider a 'once in a lifetime' experience. Another image that tends to spring to mind is one of passengers constantly dressed 'up to the nines'. Not so. Yes, you will sometimes have to be dressed formally, but most ships have several dining options and you don't always have to wear a gown or a tie. As for the staff, they are trained to provide the best service possible, not to look down on you. As more and more people 'treat themselves', staff on luxury cruise ships are used to passengers who have not experienced such first class services before, butlers for example, and are there to help you enjoy the experience.

Hopefully you're feeling a bit more relaxed now. Here are our top tips for preparing for your first luxury cruise.

Ask the Experts

Your first port of call should be the travel agent, preferably one who specialises in cruises. A good agent can discuss the different cruise lines and ships in detail, for example average age, type of entertainment, shore excursions and dining facilities. Make sure they know what you like and don't like, such as your preference for dancing in the evenings or listening to guest lecturers, and what you're looking for. Maybe you fancy glamour, in which case maybe try Silversea Cruises' Silver Cloud or Silver Wind. Or for something traditional how about one of Seabourn's three ships?

Don't Be Shy

Be honest (and firm) with your travel agent about your budget. When they know exactly how much they've got to work with they can weed out the obvious no's and see if they can get you a deal. Double check what is and isn't included in the price - on some cruise liners the tips are included in the fare and sometimes selected drinks. Cruises on SeaDream Yacht Club's ultra-luxury yachts, for example, include cocktails, tips, caviar, watersports...

Have an Onboard Budget

With all those wonderful facilities onboard, it can be tempting to splash out on relaxing spa treatments, mementos from the shops or trying your luck in the casino. Difficult for first timers, but decide on a budget and stick to it. Keep a running tab of what you've spent so you can keep a careful eye on expenditure and ensure you don't get a shock at the end of the cruise. Easier said than done we know, especially if you're onboard a ship like Crystal's Crystal Symphony or Crystal Serenity with their Feng Shui inspired spa and Caesar's Palace casino.

Research

A travel agent may be able to tell you quite a bit about the cruise, but the internet is a great research tool. For honest opinions you can find reviews from people who have been on the cruise(s) you're interested in or even join a forum where you can ask other members for any tips or comments about particular cruise(s).

Relax

Don't forget, you're there to enjoy yourself. All the staff are trained to make your cruise as pleasurable as possible and are there to help. Make the most of them. Try not to think of making what you might consider social gaffes - it's highly unlikely anyone will notice and if they do, so what? Everyone makes mistakes.

So go on, book that luxury cruise and enjoy.

Why Cruises Are a Great Way to Spend Luxury Vacations

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Any travel agent worth their salt will ask a client interested in a luxury travel vacation what kind of travel they are interested in. Based on the traveler's experience and personal preferences, the travel agent will recommend independent travel, guided tours or a cruise. One of my personal favorites is the cruise experience. A cruise is perfect for travelers interested in getting the best value, looking for convince and interested in a variety of operators and itineraries.

Value of Luxury Vacations

When pricing out a cruise, keep in mind that the price includes a lot of amenities and extras that guided tours and independent travel packages may not include. Of course, the price of your cruise includes accommodations, but they also include all food. Each cruise provider is a bit different in the dining options they provide, but rest assured that there are basic dining options available that are included in the price. Some cruise lines will include beverages, although each cruise provider differs. Your price also includes on board entertainment. From movies under the stars, instructional classes, ice cream socials and nightly shows, your cruise line will guarantee something to entertain everyone. When you take into account what is included in your price, travelers recognize how relatively cheap luxury cruises can be!

Convenience of Luxury Vacations

If you are interested in doing a grand tour of Europe, the travel from each country can be a drag. To board a train, bus or airplane every other day for two weeks can detract from the over all experience. And it is not just the travel; it is also the hassle of packing and unpacking. How can you enjoy the ambiance and relaxation that your trip is supposed to be when you are constantly rushing to the next destination? Cruises simplify this process by allowing you to visit numerous ports, without the hassle of packing and unpacking. Plus, you never even realize all the traveling you do. You simply wake up in a new port. No matter if you wish to explore the coast of Italy, or if you would like to explore each continent on a luxury world cruise, there are plenty of ways cruising makes your travel experience more convenient.

Variety of Luxury Vacations

Some people often rebuff suggestions of cruising because they leave only on specific travel dates. However, the cruising industry has grown in the last few years by leaps and bounds. With over thirty cruise lines offering several itineraries that create the perfect luxury travel vacation, there have never been more options. With cruises going all over the world, even to destinations such as Antarctica, travelers can find the perfect cruise to the perfect destination at any time!

Today, travelers interested in luxury vacations are choosing a new experience for their vacations: Cruising. Cruising offers some of the greatest deals in travel today. The per person price covers the cost of accommodations, food and on board entertainment. You also get the convenience of seeing several areas, without the hassle of packing and unpacking, or being transported via bus or airplane. And there are more cruise providers than ever before, offering a number of different itineraries on almost any date. With so many upsides to cruising, travelers are flocking to this type of travel.

Kids and teens can take part in activities both on the ship and on shore. Face painting, karaoke, beach parties, and a variety of contests are sure to keep the kids thoroughly delighted. For those parents who are apprehensive of taking their kids on a cruise holiday, you will be surprised at how fast kids adapt to the fun ambiance on board these kids cruises.

Tips on Choosing Rhine River Cruises

When you are choosing Rhine river cruises there are many things you need to consider and look for. These things include the cost, destinations, accommodations, and more. Rhine river cruises are absolutely amazing if you choose the right vacation package for you and your family. Researching carefully will help you find the ship and crew that will give you an amazing holiday.

When you are looking for a Rhine river cruise it is important to look and compare the costs of the different ships. Most ships are essentially the same thing but you should compare each of them and find out the difference. The different things you will see with the ships are the destinations and the accommodations. Choose the ship you like based on the entertainment, the room you will be staying in, and if there is one you really want to stay on. Most people don't care about the ship because they are essentially the same.

The accommodations and everything included in the vacation is very important when you take Rhine river cruises. The best cruise packages will offer excursions and sightseeing tours included in the price of the cruise. As a matter of fact, you can find a cruise through Germany's amazing river with a free guided tour at every stop along the way. This is the only way to travel. A tour guide will ensure you don't get lost in the foreign cities, act as a translator for you, and provide guidance and historical information you might never learn. Never choose a cruise that makes you pay for your own excursions separately.

Food is important and it can be expensive if you have to pay for every meal on a vacation. The point of a cruise is for the meals and lodging to be included in the trip. Some cruises do not provide three meals a day to the passengers. Not only should the cruise you choose give you three free meals every day of the vacation but there should be buffets throughout the day and plenty of snacks for the passengers. The last thing you want is to be presented with a large bill at the end of the cruise because you had to pay for all of your drinks and meals.

Germany is a wonderful place to travel to and the Rhine river houses many cities along the banks. Taking a cruise ship along this river is a fabulous way to experience the country and everything it has to offer. When choosing Rhine river cruises it is important to make your choice with what is best for your budget, comfort, and fun. All cruises should include free excursions at every port, food and accommodations, and more. Never choose a cruise line that makes you pay additional for these things. If you compare a Danube vs Rhine river cruise, be sure to look at the different boats, what they have to offer, and make your decision wisely. Planning your vacation carefully will ensure you have a wonderful trip.

Planning Discount Luxury Cruises - Be Prepared to Enjoy Your Cruise!

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Planning your luxury cruise ahead of time is essential if you are going to be able to fully enjoy the time.

Remember that planning your cruise doesn't mean that you have no room for mistakes or for genius moments. It just means that you are not going to have to worry about all those things you wanted to be sure that you did in order to make your cruise enjoyable.

The sorts of things you are going to want to plan are these:

Where the cruise is going to be.
What time of year for the cruise.
Whether you are going to go to the cruise the night before or return the day after.
Obtaining the necessary documents.Plane tickets
Boarding pass for the ship
PassportWhere to carry those documents.
Somewhere on your person.Look at possible shore cruise excursions on the cruise web site.Determine if they are going and doing what you want to do.
Determine whether they fit in your budget.
Purchase the excursion. (Then you don't have to remember on the cruise to do it.) They will give you plenty of warning to remind you that the excursion is coming up.

Those are for the trip itself, but we also write up a list that we use on every trip, whether it is cruise related or not. We have a list of things that we keep packed in very small pieces of luggage all the time. These automatically get loaded into our luggage when we are going anywhere over night.

Travel toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Travel deodorant.
Travel hair products.
Travel sundry items such as fingernail clippers, q-tips, tweezers and so on.

We call it our travel bag and we expect all the things to be in there that we would normally have in our drawers in our house. This way, we don't have to remember to pack from our drawers into our luggage the morning we are going to leave. Normally, you need those things and can't pack them ahead of time.

Then we have a list of items to pack. Some of the items in the list are:

Extra batteries or rechargeable batteries (with charger).
Swim wear.

Luxury Ocean Cruises

Luxury Ocean Cruises are a great means of luxury travel with some fantastic benefits. They make it easy to visit several places in a single trip without the hassle of packing and unpacking; they enable easy access to virtually every continent on earth; and they are the epitome of luxury travel.

For those who have not experienced the joys of luxury cruising, imagine your favourite five star resort. Now, picture waking up each morning and finding your resort has arrived as another exotic or sun-drenched location - all without the challenges of international air travel. Add to that attentive service and you get the picture of what it is like to travel on a luxury cruise.

Popular destinations include: the coasts of Alaska, Scandinavia, South-East Asia, Europe, Australia, and New England; China, Egypt, North America; and numerous other places.

As for ship facilities, all luxury ships have at least one swimming pool and comfortable deck chairs aplenty. Cruise ship entertainment includes: comedians, Vegas style musical shows, magicians, new release movies, etc. Most ships have a complete gym and some ships now offer putting greens, golf simulators, and basketball/tennis courts. For travellers who enjoy a bit of pampering, extensive spa facilities are available on all cruise ships.

All luxury cruise ships have high guest to staff ratios - to ensure discrete attentive service and response to your every whim and need. You also find luxury cruises have greater private space for guests, greater numbers of tables for two as well as on-board hosts to ensure all women guests never are in need of a dance partner to dance the night away.

A daily roster of activities is planned for each ship. These might include art auctions, cooking schools, lectures, language lessons, book clubs, arts and crafts, plus much more.

All ships have extensive libraries to while away the hours in comfortable chairs enjoying great novels and non-fiction books.

With regards to food, luxury cruises have exceptional dining choices. You can choose to dine at the main dining room, or one of the more exclusive speciality restaurants on board ship. There are also a number of coffee shops and juice bars on most ships to help cater to those needing high tea or a latte.

Cabins on luxury cruises tend to be generously proportioned, with multi-room suites available with private decks and balconies, exquisite bathrooms, lounge and bar areas, and your own private waiter.

When onshore, the shore excursions office offers a variety of sightseeing tours and activities such as cultural tours, snorkelling, museum tours and more, at each port of call.

There are many fabulous luxury cruise lines to select. Cunard Lines are the most well known for their liners which allow people to travel in supreme luxury.

The Queen Mary 2, the Queen Victoria and the Queen Elizabeth provide the highest class of ocean travel. Priceless art works enrich the senses, while Oxford Professors and guest expert lecturers enrich the mind with their seminars and lectures.

Cunard voyages include Transatlantic, the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Northern Europe and luxury Around the World cruises and range from as little as 4 days to extended stays.
